Abstract
A method using selected ion monitoring has been developed for the quantitative analysis of illicit heroin. It is accurate and reproducible. Comparing the results obtained by this method and by gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography should provide an absolute heroin content within the limits of experimental error.
